Data Usage
Nutrasheets is a food development add-on for Google Sheets. Our policy is to clearly disclose the
manner in
which the Nutrasheets add-on accesses, uses, stores, or shares Google user data. Below are
explanations of
how Nutrasheets uses authorization scopes to create a food development environment that runs in
Google Sheets.
-
Create formulation sheets and add
ingredients.
If the user chooses, Nutrasheets can insert sheets into spreadsheets and
add content and
formatting to the inserted sheets to make a formulation sheet.
Nutrasheets can insert
ingredients into formulation sheets by reading the contents of the
current active sheet and
looking for appropriate text to guide where to write ingredient data.
Nutrasheets can then
write ingredient data into the appropriate locations in the formulation
sheet.
-
Insert ingredients from your My
Ingredient Database.
Similar to inserting ingredients described above, Nutrasheets can read
the contents of
whatever sheet is active and insert importrange
statements in
the appropriate locations to insert ingredient data from the user's My
Ingredient Database.
-
Create batch sheets.
Nutrasheets can read the current active sheet, create a new sheet with
formatting and text,
and insert data from the current active sheet into the new sheet to
create a batch sheet that
is more conducive to test-kitchen, pilot plant and plant operations than
the formulation
sheet.
-
Search the USDA Nutrition Database for
ingredients.
Nutrasheets will query the
USDA
Food Composition Database with the search term of the user's
choice
and return search results based on this query. When the user selects the
result and clicks the
"Insert ingredients" or "Add to Drive ingredient database" button,
Nutrasheets will retrieve
the appropriate data from the USDA Database.
-
Create Nutrition Facts PDFs and
images.
In the Nutrition Facts dialog box, if the user clicks Create PDF, Create
BMP, Create PNG,
Create JPG, or Create TIFF, the Nutrition Facts are sent to an external
web service to convert
into the appropriate file format. The Nutrition Facts are confidential
to the user and are
protected the external service's privacy policy which is available upon
request.
-
Stores user data in a database.
A limited amount of user data (described
below)
is stored in a
database to help regulate the use of the service and determine usage.
-
Client side scripts are used to create
the Nutrasheets
user experience.
Nutrasheets relies on popular client-side script libraries to enable to
functionality and
appearance of the Nutrasheets sidebar and the Nutrition Facts dialog.
